Jeremy Nakache of Anthem Productions is the new guy on the Israeli metal promotions scene. He got everyone’s attention when he brought Hatebreed several months ago, and now, with the extremely successful and sold-out Machine Head performance, he has made his mark. Nakache answers some questions for us…
Exit to Eternity is a band out of Brooklyn, NY who reminds me of old-school Anthrax with a darker and more multicultural vibe. Their release, “Coming Down,” resurrects the heyday of the New York metal scene and anyone who likes the classics should enjoy this band. Frontman and bassist Carmine Cafaro was kind enough to answer some questions…
all pics courtesy of Deadline Studios….there will be MAD more where those came from, also a show review in the Jerusalem Post iyH.
This isn’t the real review so I’m writing it quite, um, blogstyle cause I have to save the fancy stuff for the Jerusalem Post and I am waiting on answers, but here goes…

Seven Percent Mind Usage came back only a few months ago from North Carolina where they were working on the mix for their new disc…
MI: Here I sit in Rash Gash on 21 Chaim Vital in the Florentin neighborhood in South Tel Aviv, catching up with Idan Epshtein of Seven Percent Mind Usage who works here. Idan graciously let me listen to the new Seven Percent Mind Usage which is going to be called “Fertilize the Sun”…they got the final mix no less than two days ago and are waiting for the masters…it sounds a bit different then their previous stuff. Still has edge, but … hey Idan, what’s with that James Bond shit I hear in the intro for the first track?
Tal Kedmy from Mens Rea gave us some time in the smoking room of the Old Friend Rock Bar to introduce us a bit to Mens Rea…
Mens Rea are what they say they are: old school, hard rock n’ roll with an edge. For those of you from New York, the music is pretty enough for K-rock to play while old (and new) school WSOU could rock it as well. They played a short set comprised of tracks from their recent demo. Their cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” packed the floor in front of the stage with rowdy headbangers, many of whom stayed at attention for the remainder of their set. They’re a great bar band… hell, even Old Friend owner Alex was tapping his feet. If you get a chance to see them, go. Interview with Tal Kedmi done on scene should be up very shortly…soon as work lets out, heh…
