Director Mike Kaykov, 18, lives in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He tells us, “It took me something like 2 years to finish it. I studied filmmaking for about a year before as an after-school activity in a program called Zoom In. They co-operate with the municipality of Tel Aviv to encourage and educate young people to create and develop themselves – and they gave me the right equipment.”
Mike traveled the whole country, from Tel Aviv to Herzeliya, and even Kfar-Saba, filming over 22 bands and more than 30 live shows on his own. Bands interviewed include: Orphaned Land, The Fading, Whorecore, Viscera Trail, Matricide, System Divide and Sweden’s Draconian.
The film includes footage from live shows of the following acts as well: Salem, Negative Projection, Arafel, Ferium, Eternal Grey, Prey for Nothing, Fidelity, Dark Serpent, Distorted, Immaterial, Aborted, Sabaton, Godwrath and Capillaries.
Mike asserts that making this documentary was “not as easy as it sounds. This is the first and only documentary that has ever been created in the Holy Land specifically for Israeli metal. I’m very glad with this film. It took me like forever, but I’m very glad for it.
