My Take on the First International Jewish Bloggers’ Convention
Yes ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately our government has decided that I and people like me are integral to creating Israel’s image in the outside world. Bibi Netanyahu and a lot of others gave speeches about the importance of Anglo bloggers in creating the image of Israel to the outside world.
Now there is going to be a new plan to give the Israeli people the identity the irreligious ones, at least, sorely lack.
In the next few days Tzipi Livni will sign on a whole new Israeli image branding program which will be taught in all the schools including some kinda triangle of passion, ingenuity and fusion, and that will be your new identity.. So be happy, all y’all wishing you were from Sweden, your tax dollars have now bought you an identity.
I mean, sure, Jewish identity and Torah is too passe for the Israelis, they have to be politically correct, right? Instead of feeding all the poor people here and making new jobs, instead of dealing with all of the terror and bad stuff on the inside, they will work to forge a brand called Israel in the minds of the outside world to show them we’re like everyone else, so they won’t hate us (but don’t worry they will teach it in the schools too to the kids who have no idea what they’re fighting and dying for).
“Maybe they don’t want the image on the outside to be the tanks, maybe they want it to be the shuk or something.” – Ben Bresky
I think this was a great piece of work explaining just what Israel is (and I’m not kissing tush cause I wanna work for the guy).
If the tax dollars actually bought some positive vibes overseas, it might be worth it. The totally dumbest idea our tax dollars have been recently spent on is the bridge at the entrance to Jerusalem. Jerusalem needs a fancy bridge to attract tourists? Are you kidding? We need a symbol to “brand” Jerusalem? We need the equivalent of the Golden Gate Bridge? You gotta be kidding…this is Jerusalem folks…talk about gilding the lily…
