Open Letter to Anyone Who Wants To Either Kill or Convert The Jews, Especially Peter Steele

Alrighty then.

When I first heard Type O Negative’s Dead Again (review here) a few months ago, I heard the word “Zion” mentioned and figured he was talking about something I wouldn’t like, but I had other things to do than actually look up the lyrics.

But now that I read them, I wanted to give my own official statement regarding the intimated insult to my entire religio-race and country…the insult being that Jews need to accept Yeshu or we are going to hell.

Let me start by quoting the lyrics to which I take offense (the ones that mention hell are unquoted):

Of a land that shuns the son
So alien call it Area 5-1
Should there be failure to convert Zion
What came as a lamb
Returning as a lion

Not a nation but a self proclaimed state
Since the year of our lord 1-9-4-8
The road to redemption leads through deserts
Rocky though the trip through is well worth it

Peter,

I will start by clarifying the term Israel.

There are three Israels.

There is the Nation of Israel. Most people born Jewish are part of that nation, as is anyone who converts according to Orthodox law. They are the NATION. That still exists, whether there is a State or not.

The State of Israel is a man-made government that many of the Nation of Israel don’t see as legitimate. The nation of Israel is independent of that State. However, most Jews no matter what their religious background identify with that State and support it in some way, even if they do not agree with its policies.

The Land of Israel is the Land, which belongs to the Nation of Israel as part of its Biblical heritage (y’know, the same Bible you supposedly believe in). The holiness and bond of the land to the Nation of Israel is there whether or not there is a State.

So get that straight, cause I wasn’t sure what you meant about that “not as a nation, but as a state” bit, and I was ready to rip your head off for it (I am trying to be nice).

Now then, I surmise (maybe I’m wrong) that you’re saying that all the trouble befalling Israel is because we don’t accept Yeshu. I call him that, versus what you call him, because using that word intimates that I hold him as חלילה my savior.

I’m going to tell you exactly why the Jews didn’t accept YOUR lord. There are a plethora of reasons, besides the commandment laid down in plain text that the Torah we have is immutable, none will add to it, and none will take away from it. No such thing as a New Testament, sugartush, there can be only one.

Jews believe that every human being has the capacity to be like G-d, and that his choices define whether or not he will be holy. In other words, every human is the son of G-d. G-d would never
חלילה constrict Himself into human form for reasons you could never understand. Nor could I. It’s just not the way He works, according to the tradition that your “savior” bit off from.

Now on a practical level, and this is where it really applies to you, the whole concept of a savior that absolves you “just like that” is really convenient for a weak person. Why? Because! “Hey dude, all you gotta do is believe in Jesus, and then you can do whatever the hell you want, go say a few Hail Marys and all is well.” Bullshit. In order to be saved, you have to save yourself by taking responsibility for your own actions. You know what Yom Kippur is. Well, if someone goes a-sinning and says “Hey, no worries, I’ll be forgiven on Yom Kippur,” he doesn’t get forgiven. The only time someone really gets forgiven is if the next time the sin arises, he doesn’t do it. He walks away from it. Then, the previous sin is even considered as a merit.

Like, you can’t go into a sin saying, please G-d forgive me for what I’m about to do. You are obligated to just have control and don’t do it. Your head is created over your heart for a reason. To control your own nature is true strength.

In any case, you’re right about the road to redemption being tough. Whom you call savior ain’t at the end of it, though. Redemption comes from controlling yourself and being a better person. It’s about deciding to act on the G-dly side of yourself instead of the animal side. It’s about taking yourself in hand and putting down the fucking drugs and drink, instead of yapping about things that don’t really affect your life. It’s always easier to tell other people what to do than to make yourself a better person.

In the words of Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, “The light at the end of the tunnel, may just be you.”

  1. Hitler was right.

  2. You sound like a typical American; you cannot figure out what you REALLY DO believe. Besides the point, you disgrace the Jews that DO have brains and use them.

  3. tell me one flaw in my logic… Mr. Jacksonville

  4. and what is the disgrace here, elaborate, all you did was insult me.. you sound like a good Xtian to me.

  5. To Humumgus Asshole:
Hitler WAS right. Right @ the last minute though, When he offed himself. Just a tiny bit more intellect & he might have done it after returning from some whore in Austria, or when he left prison. Paint me a more tragic figure and I’ll draw you a clown, I guarantee you will be more entertained, and possibly lose your fascination with murderers. There’s good metal for those of us who want a better understanding of the dark and theres bad metal for those that worship nothing except darkness itself, which is nothingness. Even then that can only last for a few albums @ most until the big sellout confuses the assholes.
    Skazm:
    he’s a Senior Citizen who don’t know any better.LoL.

  6. Humumgus is an emo :-/

  7. He is like the leader of type o negative : without brain.

  8. […] BTW: This picture was done as a joke like, six or seven years ago. Recently, Pete’s come out with a wonderful little ditty where he states that all the Jews need to convert to Xtianity and that Israel is a self-proclaimed state. After you read this interview, check out my response to him here. […]

  9. pete steele is ugly and he sucks at singing. He needs publicity to sell its CD and you help him.

  10. don’t worry everyone will download

  11. why can’t we all just get along? see – this is why i’ve turned away from religion in the FIRST place. too many over-opinionated assholes trying to prove their religion “right”/the best/whatever. BULLSHIT. if ONLY everyone could have their OWN private opinions and beliefs and NOT be persecuted for them – but alas, we don’t live in a world that peaceful and civil. i was raised jewish, but by an adopted family. i never took to religion. come to find i’m 50% irish, a quarter scottish and a quarter dutch. i was not born of jewish parents (which perhaps explains a lot). i do however defend the jews in most cases (involving INTELLIGENT argument) as i defend anyone being stereotyped and generalized. but here, you are simply putting yourself on the very same level as steele (and by the way, i am also a TON fan – though not “devout”). you sink to the level of insisting that YOUR beliefs are the “RIGHT” ones, and that therefore his MUST be wrong. by saying, “the road to redemption being tough. Whom you call savior ain’t at the end of it, though”, you are simply insulting, criticizing and denying steele of his own opinions. and we are all entitled to them. you can not know who is “at the end of the tunnel”. you only know what you’ve been told through your religious teachings. as does he. so let it go. we are all different. unless he comes out and personally threatens you, you should let him, and everyone else with their own OPINIONS, be. and lastly, i am in agreement that most of what people in the limelight say and/or do is for publicity. so fuck it all anyway.

  12. Everyone has the right to their opinion until it encroaches on my right to exist.

you contradict yourself – what, everyone has the right to their own opinion, until they say it?

i don’t know why you felt the need to share your family history, but know this, I have no problem with stating something I know is right, if it bothers you because you’re confused about who you are, that’s not my problem.

, nor is it your right to tell me what I should say or how I should think – you seem to think you’re the moral voice of the world yourself

  13. What he says is what has gotten millions of Jews killed for the past two millenia, I think I have the right to take that personally and answer it, I really don’t care if it goes against what you think.

  14. Dear Lady-I don’t know your name, but I have just spent some time reading this letter and your interview with Josh Silver, and found it all very interesting. I am American, middle-aged, and not a devotee of metal music. My one and only child is a metal fan, and a Type O Negative fan, and she led me to this site. Anyway, I am one of those “Christians”, and I was wondering if you would ever consider taking the time to have a dialog with me. I have alot of questions I would love to ask about Israel and your understanding of the Torah and Yeshua and events in Israeli politics. I have no intention of trying to “convert” you, I just want to have a dialog. Would you have the time and be interested?

  15. not in the slightest.

    google bnei noach .

PS the use of the word Yeshua is extremely insulting, because you are using a word made up in order to try and convert jews.

  16. Hi again. I wasn’t trying to insult you or anyone else. It was my understanding that Yeshua was the Hebrew version of the name Jesus-you used it above yourself. When I said I had no intention of trying to convert you I meant it. I have never met a religious Jew before. Those I have met in my life who identified themselves as Jewish, which includes a brother-in-law, does not seem to be religious at all. But hey, if you don’t want to have a dialog, I guess there is nothing further I can say.

  17. his Hebrew name was Yehoshua, Joshua, and the missionaries now call him Yeshua which means salvation in Hebrew, in order to get us.

In any case, it’s good that you are looking out for your kid.

Google bnei noach – you may find it interesting.

  18. Hi again-I have to quit fooling around on this computer soon and go to bed, but I just wanted to say I googled bnei noach and it is interesting, but it raises even more questions. Also about the difference between Yeshua and Yehoshua, I see the letters ho in one and not the other, and you say it changes the meaning. So my question would be what does the HO part translate into? I always thought that Joshua was just another form of the name Jesus meaning that both translated into “Savior” or “he saves.”

I found what you said about the three Israels above to be very interesting because that is what I have been taught in my studies of the Bible. I was taught that the land was given by G-d to His people Israel in perpetuity, so I do not understand why some Israelis want to give any of the land back to the Palestinians. But I guess it’s just another example of the diversity of a people and their opinions and beliefs.

When I was a child and walking down a street in Tucson Arizona, a group of black girls came up behind me. I did not know them, and they didn’t know me. One of the girls gave me a hard kick. I came face to face with hate that day, and it was because of the color of my skin.

As a religious Jew you seem to believe in doing the righteous thing and being a good person, but I have to be honest with you and say that your dislike, and I’ll be even bolder and use the word “hate”, for all those you label Christians has come across the ether of the internet to me sitting at my computer in North Carolina. It made me think of that day long ago in Tucson. But today it is not the color of my skin, but my faith that brings forth the kick. Although, I will say you softened in your second response to me.

Just like there is diversity amongst the Israeli populace there is also diversity amongst “Christians”. There are some people I meet who call themselves Christian and yet I feel no kinship to them, and then there will come a day when I will meet someone and know that they are my brother or sister in Christ-I feel from them that love and acceptance we are to have for one another in obedience to G-d.

Goodnight and thank you for your time.

  19. I hate Christianity. As for Christians, depends on the person. You use the word Yeshua to me, it 99% of the time means you’re a missionary. Missionaries deserve a lot worse than a kick.

    Have a nice life.

  20. you guys made me the proud Jewish bitch I am today – CHRISTKILLER IN THE HOUSE, YO hahAHAHhah

  21. Way to misrepresent elements of the Catholic faith to make a point. You need to study further.

  22. christian killer? yeah, that’s exactly why you’re so popular – good thing radical morons are a minority, fringe self righteous assholes.
