Just checked in with the Global Metal/Metal History Crew… the release of Global Metal is tentatively scheduled for a September 2007 release.

Global Metal is the sequel, sort of, to Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. You can read more about that monumental documentary here.

Global Metal will be a kick-ass documentary exploring the sociological aspects of metal as a nation all its own, among other things. Most of the main players on the Israeli metal scene were interviewed for this film (as well as metalfolks host of other countries like Iran, Japan, China, Indonesia, Brazil, etc.) so it’s definitely worth a check-out.
