CD Review – Mr.Hyde – Barn of the Naked Dead
Remember, this is being written in an Hungarish accent by Bela, who runs Salatamagazin. So if the grammar’s a little different that you’re used to, I wanted to be authentic.
Here is another banger for the openminded metalheads to check out, definitely. Psycho+Logical-Records artist Mr.Hyde knows what’s up with the heavy music…
Last time I wrote about Necro, who mixes the hiphop with real death metal. When we see the aspect of energy, Mr.Hyde is of the same level like any metal band. He is a hiphop artist, but he loves metal and it comes through in the music. His flow is full of energy and the music is brutal. The themes pass around mostly violent and horroristic themes, and the album contains a lot of skits from horror flicks. But when you see that I write that the themes are “violent” the thing is not that easily defined. Yeah, his brutal lyrics are shocking too, but that’s only one part. Second is that you must interpret the songs in the right way, not an aimless way. Personally to me when I listen to Mr.Hyde, it’s similar to when I listen to Slayer. I use to release the negative energy and after that, pump myself up. And that’s a good feeling – I think that’s one of the goals of Mr.Hyde with his music.
And when we see his career he represents integrity, devotion and honour for his Psycho Logical Records family and movement no matter what. Hyde is a member of the group Circle Of Tyrants (whose name comes from the legendary Celtic Frost song), the other members are Necro, ILL BiLL and Goretex (though he is no more down with the crew). On the COT album Mr.Hyde worked with some metal legends like Vinnie Appice of Black Sabbath/DIO and Alex Skolnick of Testament. The album contains also feature tracks with Igor Cavalera of Sepultura and Matt Harvey of Exhumed. So I think alone shows that Hyde is respected by the real metal legends. Check out his album. All tracks entirely produced by Necro.
