I am sure that this is going to be the next band to make it big out of Israel for the following reasons…

I missed White Noise, because I had to run back to Rash Gash where I’d left my camera.

Opening act Abed was interesting. They were confident enough to slalom from musical genre to musical genre, from reggae to 90’s covers to the general death/metalcorish vibe with dual vocal duty. They’re pretty skilled.

But Excessum? Well, they changed their name to “The Fading”. I don’t think it’s a fitting name at all because it sounds weak and they’re the exact opposite of fading. But there is something cool about it. Anyway, I am sure that this is going to be the next band to make it big out of Israel for the following reasons.

They sound clean and professional. The rhythm section comprised of drummer Shaked Furman and bassist Elad Manor is furious and tight. The guitarists, Arie Aranowic and Jonathan Bar-Ilan are both technically impressive to a high degree and work extremely well together – the only proof I can bring in writing is the fact that they pulled off a more than decent In Flames cover (I don’t know the name of the song but I know it well – I always call it “Shadowless” (mp3s are beautiful). And vocalist Ilia Badrov is a quintessential frontman because it’s obvious he loves to perform and he really knows how to work the crowd.
