Interview with Von Elixir of the Schwarze Union

This is an interview with Erik Anton, known as Von Elixir of the Shwarze Union, an organization dedicated to the promotion of dark music in Israel. Swarze as most of you know means ‘black’ in Yiddish, German, etc. They’re making a party, details of which you can see in the post below. So I messaged him, we conversed…

VE: Could you review the dunkle scene at the future?

MI: Dunkle?

MI: Sure, I have just one rule. Since I’m a dosit I don’t put shows that are on chag or Shabbat.

VE: Dunkle is schwarze, whatever. 🙂 That means goth and industrial.

MI: Cute. No problem.

VE: We are not doing shows on Friday and Saturday.

MI: Awesome!

VE: I’m a religious man in my way. Anyway, any help to the dark underground is super welcome and we highly appreciate it :)!

MI: It’s really my pleasure.

VE: 🙂 Cool cool:) the dark wave is growing!

MI: What’s your role in these parties?

VE: I’m a representative of “Schwarze Union” Israel. I’m working with the EBM/Industrial/TBM/old School EBM/Dark Electro/GOTH MUSIC-we arrange parties, events, concerts, etc.

MI: How did the Union get started?

VE: Well I started the Union as an idea of gathering of all the genres whom are so called a part of the schwarze scene….you see, in the scene there is plenty of absolutely different genres ,whom are considered as a part of the scene. For example people who are into industrial could enjoy from gothic rock, those who are into synth pop might enjoy from listing to dark ambient…and so on

MI: How big do you think the Schwarze scene is in Israel?

VE: Well, it’s really hard to say. I believe there are plenty of people who are listening to this genre. Then there’s people, so-called clubbers, who go to the different events and parties…I guess the scene gets its development.

MI: What bands do you like the best?

VE: Well I liked the new album of Laibach a lot…I guess that the last work of Combichrist is really powerful. Of course I’m always enjoying Dead can Dance, Mortiis, and some old school Black Metal.

MI: So you’d say the metal and goth crowd here is basically together – that people aren’t like, snobby goth –they’re metalheads too, or are you and me like the only ones you know of.

VE: Well, I guess people considered metalheads come to our parties to dance and enjoy- I guess that most of the goth scene possesses some roots from the metal scene, and plenty of goth people are listening to some metal bands, no doubt.

MI: Are there any Israeli dark music artists?

VE: There are of course. The Israeli Noise Scene for example contains plenty of really quality bands. There are labels, concerts, webzines. There are several schwarze scene bands like Ultras, Observe and Control, Pulsa de Nura. I hope that our official webzine will strike the air at the close future…I really respect and thank Metalist webzine…Tal Orlev from alternatv.co.il and Igor from israelectro.com are more than a family with their help and support.

VE: Could you please add to the interview that VON ELIXIR AND SHLOMI.DE WOULD LIKE ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE COMING TO AND SUPPORTING OUR EVENTS-YOU AND THEY ARE THE REAL MATTER OF THE WHOLE THING-WITHOUT YOU IT COULD NOT BE POSSIBLE FOR THESE EVENTS TO HAPPEN….for that we are thankful. We embrace you. 🙂
