Headrush – “Headrush” Review
So we have a guitarist who played in Dokken, the former Labyrinth vocalist and a few other very good band members. What do we get? A professional sounding band, but there’s something missing to really excite us. All the players do a very nice job but sound uninspiring. The songs are generally OK, not great, and vary from progmetal to glam. The sound has that sterile aspect typical of modern European bands or just about any modern metal album. The solos also show how well the guitarist can play technical stuff but they unfortunately lack something to catch your ear. In summary, while not being a bad album, it’s not too good either.
