Report: RAMMSTEIN Linked To Desecration Of Israeli Synagogue – May 4, 2006
Jerusalem Post is reporting that RAMMSTEIN — “the name of a German heavy metal band who some associate with neo-Nazism” — was spray-painted on the floor of the Great Synagogue in Petah Tikva (a city in the west of the Center District of Israel, north-east of Tel Aviv), which was broken into and desecrated on Thursday morning (May 4).
The perpetrators drew swastikas on the walls, on the ark and on Torah Scrolls.
They also wrote “Hitler” on the doors of the synagogue and flung the contents of the ark onto the floor.
They covered every Jewish symbol with spray paint and drew the symbol of a known devil worship cult on the synagogue’s walls.
Detectives took photographs and fingerprints from the scene and police are investigating the incident.
This was not the first time that vandals had desecrated the 100-year-old synagogue.
In July 2005, the government opposed a proposal by Shinui MKs to strip individuals engaged in neo-Nazi activities of their citizenship.
The bill was submitted following reports of non-Jewish Russian-speaking immigrants who have become involved in neo-Nazi activity in Israel.
Earlier that year a Russian-born IDF soldier with a swastika tattoo on his left arm, who admitted to maintaining contacts with neo-Nazi groups abroad, was arrested in Ariel. His mother was also detained for questioning after she spoke of her hatred for Israel and expressed support for neo-Nazis.
What do you think?
Man, I can’t wait for the new Shadows Fall album to come out – it hits the stores this June. And there’s an exclusive interview with the band coming up…well…soon!!!!!
IN FLAMES
Come Clarity
(Nuclear Blast)

“Come Clarity” is indication that even after nine studio albums the fire of In Flames isn’t dying out any time soon. Even though Nuclear Blast made the agonizing choice to cut all the tracks short on the promotional CD right before the guitar solo, I heard enough and I eventually got the full one.
“Come Clarity” continues in the more electronic vein of “Reroute to Remain” while still providing In Flames’ trademark exquisite guitarwork (in fine Iron Maiden tradition) and intricately tight drum and bass unit complemented by the supreme vocal style of vocalist Anders Friden – there are few vocalists who can screech and make it sound good rather than like dying cat cacophony.
If the PR on this disc is aimed right it could probably do quite well commercially. The production is pretty slick, it’s like the longer the band is in business the shinier it gets. The music is still awesomely intense and fast but it’s of lighter emotion. It’s introspective and even spiritual but there isn’t anything as heavy/dark as “Clayman”, which means they must just be happier nowadays or something. “Take This Life” is speed freak rhythm alternating with catchy riffs and it’s grand (also awesome live – see pics of their February NYC show here). In “Dead End” they use a female vocalist. When she sings alone it teeters dangerously on the verge of Evanescence (IT’S TOO PRETTY) but her voice contrasting with Friden’s during the chorus sounds cool as hell. “Reflecting the Storm” is well, calming and “Come Clarity” is a gorgeous song that could have found super ballad status back in the 80’s. I can have “Crawling Through Knives” on repeat for hours cause it’s like audio soul caffeine.
In Flames is one of the most uplifting bands around these days and there’s something in their sound that elicits a pure kind of yearning. “Come Clarity” is yet another progression in style, not exactly like their older stuff. Definitely recommended.

Well, it takes a lot of balls to sing “Dancing Queen,” Yochai.

All of my grandparents survived the Holocaust. Thank G-d, my grandmothers are still alive, may they be for many years to come. The two ladies I love most in the world have faced unimaginable pain of losing their parents, siblings, extended family, friends. They’ve suffered tremendous hunger, hard labor, freezing temperatures, physical suffering, the agony of waiting for that one bus or train that could mean death if only a minute late, and making carpets out of human hair as well as other experiences that horror movie masters can only dream up. I know them all too well as stories passed down within my family.. they’re forever embedded in me. The Holocaust has left an eternal impact on them and on all of their children, and their children..and it will go on forever.
We will never forget, and G-d willing, one day, we will avenge.
My grandmother wrote this book.
It will be passed down as long as humanity exists, from generation to generation. So will the testimony of my other grandmother and hundreds of others in the Steven Spielberg archives – no one of my blood will forget, no one will forgive. (If you want a comprehensive list of links go to my mom’s site.)
And another thing, I know I got people on this site who would like to see another Holocaust happen..don’t worry, it will, against you and those who think like you.
