Because many people in the Israeli metal scene (including me) were interviewed, this is of particular interest…

“The organizers of the Bergen International Film Festival and Hole in the Sky have announced the world premier of the new documentary “Global Metal”, on Thursday, October 18 at 19.00 at Bergen Kino in Norway.

In “Global Metal”, directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn — the makers of the acclaimed documentary “Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey” — set out to discover the impact of heavy metal on the world’s cultures beyond Europe and North America. The film follows metal fan and anthropologist Sam Dunn on a whirlwind journey through Asia, South America and the Middle East as he explores the underbelly of the world’s emerging extreme music scenes — from Indonesian death metal to Chinese black metal to Iranian thrash metal. “Global Metal” reveals a worldwide community of metalheads who aren’t just absorbing metal from the West — they’re transforming it, creating a new form of cultural expression in societies dominated by conflict, corruption and mass consumption.

“Global Metal” is expected to include an interview with Israel’s ORPHANED LAND and live footage from ORPHANED LAND’s November 25, 2006 show at the Theatre Club in Tel-Aviv, Israel.

“Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey” explored metal’s impact and controversy over the past 35 years and featured interviews with Tony Iommi, Bruce Dickinson, Alice Cooper, Ronnie James Dio, SLAYER, Dee Snider, ARCH ENEMY, LAMB OF GOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, EMPEROR and many more. The two-disc DVD set was released in North America in May 2006 and includes extended interviews, an interactive metal history chart, and a mini-doc on Norwegian black metal.

Thanks, Blabbermouth

Metal Israel Exclusive Interview: Glenn Barry of Kamelot Part 1

Glenn Barry

The haunting melodies and vocals of Kamelot elicit a mystical yearning reminiscent of the place they’re named after, or some crap like that. No, really, their progressive bent and the skill they exhibit is pure storytelling in music. They’ve been around for 17 years or so and are currently touring in Europe (and soon after, Japan). I wasn’t really able to Google much about other members of the band than dynamic duo lead singer Khan and guitarist Thomas Youngblood, so it was a cool thing to be able to interview bassist Glenn Barry, who is temporarily being replaced on said current tour by former Kamelot bassist Sean Tibbets due to family commitments.

This is the first part of an interview I did back on August 19 – the second will be up ASAP – between the holidays, pain, work and travel life has been busy.

10 Neo-Nazi Russian Scumbags Deserving of Death Get Arrested in Petach Tikva

Yeshiva World reports that the little pissants responsible for painting swaztikas in a Petach Tikva synagogue have been arrested.

Metal Israel reported on this way back when: check the link here.

The editorial staff of this publication (hey, how ya doin’??) holds that these wastes of life should be shot and killed as enemies of the state, the same way their idols shot and killed us.

Unfortunately, they may only face deportation: According to the Jerusalem Post (thanks Yeshiva World), Israel’s Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit said he would consider revoking the citizenship’s of the suspected members of the neo-Nazi ring arrested in Petah Tikva.

“I intend to explore whether there is a legal possibility to revoke their citizenships and deport them from the country. If there is such an option, I will not hesitate to use it.”

The interior minister added that “whoever believes in the Nazi dogma has no place in the State of Israel.”

JUST SHOOT THEM. HELLO?
